Sometime last year, I started reading The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett. It was one of those books I immediately knew I’d love.
I was already feeling like a future CEO while reading it.
I took notes like I was prepping myself for an exam. I even created a folder for my notes to come back to later.
But guess what?
I haven’t gone back to those notes. And I haven’t gone back to the book either.🥲
Of course, the book was good. It really was. But you know, life happened—as it usually does—and I forgot to go back to it.
Still, I didn’t walk away from The Diary of a CEO entirely.
Earlier this year, I discovered from Bartlett’s LinkedIn that there was a podcast version on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
He occasionally posts these extremely click-baity trailers that enchant you in less than 5 seconds and in the next 5 seconds, you’ve found yourself halfway through a 3-hour podcast episode wondering what just happened.
That’s how fantastic the trailers and the episodes are.🥹
And the podcast, so far, is the only one I return to every once in a while.
It’s not just interviews; it’s conversations. The kind that stretch you. The kind that make you pause and rethink what you’ve been doing—or not doing—with your life.
There are episodes on finance, relationships, physical and mental health, politics, discipline, failure, grief, and purpose—each one with someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.
And it’s really comforting to hear people share stories of how they’ve built things, lost things, broken down, and rebuilt.
Some episodes have helped me reflect more deeply. Others have challenged the way I think.
And I think that’s why I keep going back. Not just for the quick tips and tricks, but for deeper perspective.
Honestly, life has been happening once again, so it’s been a while since I watched an episode.
But I saw something yesterday (which I cannot even remember) that reminded me of the podcast.
I’ve been telling myself I need to tell people about the podcast because it really is that good.
So this is me recommending it to you.
If you’re someone who’s serious about self-improvement, I think you’ll find it helpful.
Maybe even healing.
And this obviously isn’t a paid sponsorship (oh, I wish). It’s just me being extra nice and thoughtful today for no particular reason.
Just take a little time to watch or listen to an episode on any topic of interest just to see how it goes.
No pressure...🙂
And I’ve also been thinking of recommending more stuff like books, comics, songs, movies, cartoons, shows, podcasts, games—stuff that entertain, educate, or empower in some way.
My taste in these things is just too good to be kept all to myself. I want these recommendations to bring little joys in your life like they do for me.
If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to let me know.
I just might make it a regular thing if you’re down for it.😉
the diary of CEO , i think is the best podcast channel on YT ,
This is one of the books I thought about reading but never made time for. Maybe I should now.
